What turned out to be a near disappointment, turned out to be ok. Let me explain.... I got the large jar, but the wick on this particular candle did NOT want to stay lit. It kept drowning in its own wax, and no matter what I did I couldn't recover it.

I turned it into a great use, rather than throw it away. These candles can be expensive, and I was so discouraged by this experience. It was great to have a tart warmer or burner however, as I just spooned scoops of this very soft wax into there, and got some great mileage out of the wax that way. It was not a total loss!

That said, I got to experience the full aroma in a different way, with my tart warmer. I will continue to get some great use this way until the fragrance is gone.

I wondered if it would have the same effect, or "throw" the candle would have given off. I wasn't disappointed, as I could smell it two rooms away when I came up the stairs the first day I used it in the tart warmer. Its a nice, sweet and spicy scent.

It is probably good to add also, that these candles sold VERY well, this scent in particular, at the one store I worked at. People came in wanting to smell it often and also often purchased it. So that might give an idea of its fame and popularity. I don't want to put down Woodwick in any way, but I sure do hope they got this kind of problem under control, just for their own sake. I am sure it was just a fluke, as I haven't had that much trouble since, with drowning wicks, to where I couldn't just drain off or scrape out some wax to save the candle. Try this fragrance, you may just love it like so many others.

While I didn't get to enjoy the crackling sound this candle normally gives off (like a fireplace, or wood burning) I can say the color is a very beautiful deep red color. Very rich looking.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mycandlereviews.blogspot.com/2011/12/cinnamon-chai-candle-by-woodwick-review.html' title='Cinnamon Chai Candle by Woodwick - A Review. The fragrance is Yankee Candle Comapany. It was intentional to save the candle that long, but being more of a holiday fragrance, I wanted to wait on it.

I have been burning it this season, and have really been enjoying it so far. The biggest complaint I have, is the blackening of the jar from the wick as it get just the tiniest bit longer than a short clip. Granted, there are things you can do to minimize the black smoke, with their accessories, but if I don't need them, I would rather not use it or have to purchase them. I would rather use my money on more candles~!

This fragrance puts out a nice scent, handsome even. Not too fruity, flowery, or like a donut store, but a great scent for everyone. This is my opinion, and its just a nice classic candle I would probably purchase again. The blackening put a damper on a little, but its easily wiped off with a dry tissue, and I just keep the wicked trimmed very low.
A nice candle, with a beautiful color.

Blueberry Candle by Yankee Candle Company - A Review

This candle is a lovely dark blue color, just like blueberries. I had a friend that I was shopping with long ago when I lived in Georgia, that loved these blueberry candles by Yankee. I had to smell it, and we both bought one once on that shopping trip. I took that candle home, and enjoyed every minute that it burned. This was when they had those dainty glass lids, that you just lifted off, very nice.

A lot of time passed, and I had the opportunity to get one again but in a glass holder that doubles as a glass later on. It took be back to the winter time months when I burned it before, only this time it was late summer. The blueberry scent did well no matter when I burned it.

What surprised me most was how strong the scent was when I burned it, and how much it smelled just like blueberries. I would highly recommend it, and it seemed to last a good long time as well. There are other blueberry variations they have, but I haven't tried those recently. This one is classic and great.

1 dollar tart and votive Yankee Palooza Sale, that YCC has periodically

Today I thought, "I will just drive by the Yankee store on the way out of this area" that I was in. Here is what I got today, mostly tarts this time.

The one votive I got was Over the River, and I also got a tart as well. I got the largest jar they carry, when it was on sale. It helps me to feel a little more justified getting it, haha. This scent is lovely, and enjoyable, and not too strong. One thing that I didn't expect was something my boys said when we got home after being gone for a full two weeks. Our house was not very air conditioned when we were gone, so now we would know what our house smelled like! My son said later on his facebook, "I never knew what my house smelled like before, it smells good." Or something like that. I thought so too. What I noticed later on, was that the candle I left on the table, top off, was my Lavender Vanilla Yankee Candle! What a testament to the great smell and oils that Yankee uses for their candles. If I am not mistaken, that is partly why my house smelled so good. You can't go wrong with this scent.

Blackberry Honey Jar Candle by Keepers of the Light - Review

I got a small or "baby" jar of Blackberry Honey in 6 ounce size. Its my first time trying these candles, and they are rather rustic looking, but are very nice so far.
They have a simple metal, lift off lid, with not a lot of decoration, but thats not what I want to pay for anyway in a candle.

The scent seems very true to life, and when burning I can smell it but its not overwhelming by any means. I like the scent, but don't love it. I knew it when I bought it, and was curious how it would smell when burning, and I was pleased with that.

I did notice the wick a tiny bit off center. When I burned it even more off center, but easily remedied with a pencil or metal nail file. It has stayed straight ever since. It could be that it was hot outside too, in the sun so got too warm in August and moved somehow.

Great burning, pleasant, even, not too hot and fast of a flame. Haven't had to trim the wick yet, and no black smoke or smoking coming from it. I would recommend them, and would buy again but would want to try another of their many wonderful scents to choose from. I saw them online for sale at a few places. I got mine at my favorite local boutique. Happy to try Keepers of the Light Candles, keep up the good work!

Keepers of the Light Candle Company

This is an interesting company that is new to me, though I think its been around for some time. I love the names I saw of the sizes of the jars, "Baby, Mama, Papa" for the candle jars, so cute! They are 6, 22, and 34 ounces in those jars. They also have votives, tarts and delights.

First, I love the name, its just a cool name, "Keepers of the Light."

The candles are simple, understated and would fit nicely in any decor, except for maybe a gaudy or extra fancy setting. They would go well in a country setting for sure. I LOVE anything coconut and this pretty pink Ambrosia candle is an absolute favorite of mine! The wick almost wants to drown a little, but I can work with it, and love the fragrance so much.

It has the characteristic mild crackling sound that comes with the WoodWick candles. I found myself not wanting to burn it, so that it won't be "gone", lol, but that is a good sign that I love it so much. Oh dear...as I am typing this, it just burned out because the wax pool kind of drowned the wick. I will share what I do in this case while there is a little melted wax around still. I gently swirl it around the sides, so it catches some of the wax and "unburies" more of the wick, so I can at least relight it for a while. Or, you can just pour off some wax, but I hate to do that as I feel its wasting the precious candle! It helps you to enjoy it longer at least.

I am sure WoodWick will figure out how to handle the wax drowning the wick issues I sometimes find. It would be a downside to this candle if I didn't love the fragrance so much!

Juicy Watermelon Fragrance, in a small votive size

I was so excited to find some Juicy Watermelon Candles. When I got them, it wasn't the first time I saw them either. I was trying to be "good" and not get too many candles, and had the perspective of "sitting" on the idea for a while. When I went back to the store, I smelled them again, and they always smelled good. I was hoping to avoid getting home and regretting it smelling a bit different when I burned it. I wasn't disappointed.

Juicy Watermelon smells great even in just the little votive size. I am burning it in a pretty little hand painted votive holder. It is painted with Spring flowers, and has that clear crackled glass. Its burning very well, plenty of flame without any blackening of the glass, and no black smoke either. Two things I always love! I would recommend it, and its not a "must by" again, but its a "would buy" again in the future. The color is lovely deep pink, and burns beautifully.

New Candle deals from Hallmark Cards, Yankee and Wood Wick Candles

I was in the local Hallmark Store recently, and found a great little deal on Yankee Candles there. They have some in their clearance section, but also Wood Wick and Yankee have a special promotion going on for a couple of fall scents. You could burn these any time of the year though!

Wood Wick has a super cute jar, with an acorn lid that is very eye catching, that would be great to re-use for later (I am thinking filling it up with Candy Corn around Halloween time, and fall time!)
The fragrance is Autumn Harvest, and is six (6) ounces of very yummy smelling soy wax! This is the candle that gives off a crackling sound as well when it burns. It sounds like a crackling fire, on purpose, so don't be alarmed that anything is wrong with your candle. You can use the candle, wash it well, then put something else in it later. It retails for 12.95, but is 6.95 with any Hallmark purchase for a time. Great deal! There is also a mini reed diffuser in Autumn Harvest Fragrance, same price if you like that more. Its nice to come home to the fragrance, without having to have an active flame going while you are away. Also good if you have little children around.

Yankee has a really cute little jar, 4 ounces worth of Farmer's Market fragrance for their promotion. This one is only 4.95, and smells like a fall farmer's market, with an extra touch of apple. You will likely love this as much as I do! I think it normally retails for about 9.99, but is a different kind of little jar, it has a metal lid and could also be reused later. Thinking green here and practical. I will let you know how I like them later, after I am actively burning them, but if how they smell right now is any indication, they are to die for!

Pomegranate Fruit large jar candle, by Yankee

This is another new one for me to try. I have seen other ones with pomegranate in the title of the candle, but when I saw this one at Yankee, I had to try it. First, I love pomegranate fruits! The candle is a beautiful color, deep red, and the fragrance smells to me about as close as one can get to the fragrance of a pomegranate I suppose. I like it, its pleasant enough, and has a good "throw" or fragrance it gives off in a large room.

Oddly it reminded me of a cranberry type of candle I had long ago, but this isn't a negative for I loved that candle too. It still is a bit different than that, but may help you to get the idea of the smell of the candle. I am thinking my cranberry candle had a bit more tartness to it, though this one isn't as sweet as the pomegranate cider candle. I love that one too, but its very sweet smelling, too sweet for some people, so this one may be a good compromise. Try one today! The color is gorgeous, and it can be truly used year around for sure, not just in the summertime or anything.

Pineapple Cilantro Candle

I was so excited when I saw the new fragrances from Yankee and this one, Pineapple Cilantro really caught my eye! Its a bright lime green, with a beautiful "picture" on the packaging, very eye catching. When I first smelled it, I did so with a bit of timidity, not sure what to expect. Its no surprise that I absolutely loved the fragrance in the jar (or jar lid actually, you can smell it best there, a tip I learned from the employees at Yankee) when I first smelled it.

I purchased one votive to start with ,knowing that I would love to burn it. Only one problem, when I did burn it, it gave off a bit of a different smell to me than just the candle alone :( I was so disappointed, because I SO wanted to love this candle. Its the kind of smell that makes you ask, "what is that smell?", only to realize it was my new candle! So, that was the end of that love affair with pineapple cilantro candles from Yankee. Perhaps they can change that up a bit and it will be better in the future, OR maybe it was an odd mistake in production or something that caused the smell. Yankee of course still has a ton of new fragrances I haven't even tried yet but can't wait to.

Cucumber and Cantaloupe Votive Candle

This candle is a votive size that you often burn in any regular candle holder. The scent is Cucumber and Cantaloupe. Its very fresh and wonderful especially for the summer months. (Though it would be great or any time of the year or a time when you are dreaming of or missing summer)
The size is 1.75 ounce so its actually a bit larger than some other votives candles you can find. The normal retail value is 1.99, though it often can go on sale in local stores like Hallmark Stores and the Yankee Candle store. You can often find Yankee Candles on a clearance sale as well. My only advice would be to burn these candles more quickly, as they may be on sale because of their shelf life. If they are older, they may be trying to rotate them out. The newer the candle, the more fragrance from the oils you will get.
You can't beat the combination of cantaloupe and cucumber. At first it may sound like a strange combination, but really its very good! The color is a light peach color. I am burning it in a favorite butterfly votive holder.

Lilac Blossoms by Yankee Candle

This candle, is the little jar candle, which is 3.7 ounces. The fragrance is Lilac blossoms, and to be honest, I have avoided this fragrance, even though I love the color, etc. I often can't handle heavily perfumed flower fragrances, as they make my head almost start to hurt.

We were at the candle store, and it was my younger son that said, Mom, I like this one. This was really cute, because my husband has always liked he smell of lilacs because when he was young they had an amazing lilac bush that smelled so wonderful. So, like father, like son, and my son didn't even know his dad liked it so much.

At any rate, I have this candle, and its actually very very nice. Such a beautiful color, and so summery and festive. It has good throw, and is generally pleasant. The lilac fragrance is about as true to the real lilac smell as I can imagine it could be.

So I will be buying this one again, as it also rounds out some of my other favorite sweeter and spicy fragrances, and bakery type fragrances. I would recommend it, its like it takes you back to days gone by. The burn seems nice and even and steady as well. A nice rich candle in many ways.

Evening Air, by Yankee Candle

I am trying out a new Yankee Candle "tart" (wax melt) that is called Evening Air. Its very strong smelling, and masculine, etc. I like it, but don't love it. There are some other ones I like a little more, that may fall in this category. Some may love it though. I wouldn't put it at the top of a list to buy, by any means. For a strong scent with a strong "throw" you may like it. It does kind of have a scent of evening air, if you could "bottle it". Glad I tried this one. :) Rich, dark and handsome, not flowery or bakery style, its its own fragrance for sure. My son, first found this fragrance, when he was just 11, and told me "Mom, this is one of my favorites, get this one." The "picture" on the front is one of a front porch of a cottage by the ocean. There is a breeze blowing, waves in the distance, etc. I LOVE that scene, but for some reason never really seemed that interested in the candle. I always remembered that he liked it, so I tried it one time in their large jar. I am LOVING this candle!! Its a pretty color, and the fragrance is perfect. I will definitely be getting this one again, and I know it would make a very nice gift. I recentely purchased one of the candle jar topper accessories, that makes it look like a little lamp. This has an added benefit, besides just making the candle pretty to look at. It keeps the flame very still and controlled and helps it to never smoke like it had been doing. I had to keep the wick super short to control the flame before, but now it can get pretty long, and still burn very controlled. I still snip the wick down, but it never gets to the blackening smoke stage. The jar topper I have is one with butterlies on it, my favorite :)
The jar I purchased is the largest jar, and they run about 24.99, but I got mine on a half off sale. So I was lucky there. Its the best value for a good fragranced candle.
Will definitely purchase again.

Linen, by Wood Wick

I have the small 3.4 oz jar in Linen, by Wood Wick. These crackling candles are always a joy to burn, and please the senses more than your average candle. The Linen fragrance is very nice, with a fairly good throw. This has a very authentic smell of clean linens, like when they are hanging out on the line to dry, outside in the sunshine. I have memories of my grandmother hanging up the bed linens in this way to dry outside. There is a very particular fragrance and memory this conjures up, and I truly love it! I can remember the breeze blowing and running through the hanging sheets outside, the sunshine, etc. Thanks to Wood Wick for another great fragrance, and a little different one to me. I usually burn the woody fragrances, or the yummy cookie types or Christmas types, etc. I would highly recommend this one, and know the wax liquefies quickly. This would probably be one I would purchase again, for the clean and fresh scent, that isn't overly "flowery strong". I would burn anywhere, but at meal time. Very pleasant and classy, a beautiful fragrance.
This candle at the 3.4 ounce jar runs $9.99. I have nothing negative to say about this fragrance, and actually love it very much! Its not overpowering at all. It has a fairly good throw to it. Its just a very pleasant fragrance to have in the air. It is one of those candles I hope they don't discontinue and hope they have for a long time. I used it in my new electric tart warmer. I am fast becoming a fan of the electric tart warmer. I definitely want to find the bigger candles in these fragrances and purchase them. There is a warm and happy feel to this fragrance and I would highly recommend it to everyone. You can't go wrong with this one. Two thumbs up, and highest of ratings on this one. :) When I go to the Yankee Candle site, I cannot find this fragrance, and it makes me fear the worst..that it may be discontinued. The good news is, that when I visit my local Yankee Candle store, I see they often have older fragrances they bring back for a time. I sure hope they keep or bring back this one.

Fresh Laundry, by Mia Bella

Mia Bella, the Cleaner -Burning Gourmet Candle company, makes a candle called Fresh Laundry. If you are looking for a very strong, fresh scent that isn't overly "flowery" this fragrance may be for you. The "throw" is incredible, and you can't miss this one. I would probably get this one again. I have the 16 oz. , with two wicks.

This has a strong smell of either fabric softener or a detergent. It would be very great in a large space or bathroom, or any room really. I wouldn't burn it while eating or at a dinner table, etc.

Mia Bella proved to burn very clean, and I always like that kind of crystalizing effect in the wax when it cools. It is a little strong, but that is what you want in a candle so often, to give off its fragrance. It's "throw" is incredibly strong. I think that because of the 3 wicks, it quickly liquefies the wax, to give off its fragrance as well. I keep a close eye on trimming the wicks very low. It helps to make the candle last longer as well. Its a great candle for burning by the bathtub, because again, you get a quick release of the fragrance, but also because the 3 wicks give off a nice ambience in a darkened bathroom while in the bath. (If relaxation is what you are going for. That is often the case with me!)

I would recommend burning the candles from Bath and Body Works, a store I just love. Their candles are just new to me personally, but I am glad I tried them. :) I have a couple more to try in the near future here. The only downside, if there must be one, was that the color of the wax after hardening, was a slightly different color than the rest of the wax in the jar. This is no big deal, and didn't hinder the burning or the fragrance release. The color of the wax is a beautiful light blue, and the name and fragrance all are just lovely. You could probably reuse the jar as well, for a cute cotton ball holder or something like that. (thinking green here, recycling, etc. :)

I will probably get these candles again. Because of the excellent sale they were having on them, it was a great excuse for me to try them. Make sure to check back as I will be adding more candle reviews. I would definitely get this one again. Its a little sweet, but its to be expected from a peach mango salsa I would guess. It has a good "throw" across most of the master bedroom. I will be interested in seeing how long that lasts. Try Peach Mango Salsa if you get the chance its fun, even in January. Makes it feel a bit more like summer time. :)

Update on this one... I have burned this tart some more, but the fragrance hasn't been as great to me. There is an underlying fragrance that I am not even sure I like. Not trying to be too harsh, but also saying that I am not sure it is the "winner" I thought it was. I would still say its a good one to try at least once. Just more "ho hum" to me than first thought.

Honeydew Melon, Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle's Honeydew Melon, was the first 17 ounce 3 wick I had ever burned before. I really like the ambience and brightness of the 3 wick candle burning. It also creates a faster wax pool, thus spreading out the frangrance faster. The only possible negative is that the scent isn't that great to me. There are a few of Yankee's scents, that have this smell to it that I can't quite put my finger on, and the Juicy watermelon also has this smell. This will sound really negative, and I don't mean it to be, but its almost like a kerosene smell, for lack of better words. Still, it wasn't awful, and someone else that likes this scent may really enjoy the candle. It wasn't an overly strong fragrance, so it didn't bother me, and as always, I enjoyed the clean burning candle. I would get another 3 wick from Yankee in the future, but perhaps try out some different scents. I like it better when I smell it as the wax is hardened, and not so much as it was liquefied. It was a nice green color, which was a plus. Burns very nicely.

Lavender WoodWick Review

I was so excited to bring home my first ever Lavender WoodWick candle, and had been considering buying it for a few weeks before I did. I decided to go ahead and get this one, as I am not sure that it is even in production anymore, and I REALLY like the scent of it. Its one of those fragrances that really takes me back to a time when I was younger, that are very pleasant. The color is outstanding as well, its just beautiful. The candles WoodWick makes are just beautiful and very classy in their design. This particular candle is the smaller, $9.99 version, which is a 3.4 ounce hourglass shaped jar.

Anyway, as I proceeded to burn this one, I wondered if it was just me, that I was in the room with it at first, etc, that I didn't sense a lot of "throw" from this candle. Throw, being the ability to put the fragrance out in the room it is in. I later, left and came back in, trying to smell it more. It was a little elusive to my senses, sadly, because this scent is outstanding to me. I was SO hoping it would just fill up the room it was in. I tried it the next day, in my master bathroom, a smaller space, thinking this would help me to smell it more. I was still disappointed in the very faint amount of fragrance it put out. I bent over to get a better smell, and I did smell it more when I was right over it. I let it go on for a few hours even, with the same result. This has not been my general experience with the WoodWick, except for maybe the Gingerbread scent but I did smell that more than the Lavender. One last thought, it COULD be this candle is older, and that is why the scent isn't just jumping out there? I did burn it the day after I got it home. I may try again later, as I love this fragrance color, and clean burn so much. I would now then, if it is just the candle, or something other factor.
I will hold out hope though.

Mia Bella Candles and Melts

Mia Bella is a new company to me for candles. Oh my, how fun to win this raffle, it was really a silent auction, and was a super fun night. One of the girl's mother sold these candles for a part time business. It was her donation on her daughter's behalf. What a great and fun thing to win, and she had it dressed up with silk flowers, etc. I was so excited to win this.

Here is what was in this wonderful basket full of Mia Bella goodies:

16 oz. jar of Coconuts and Lime
16 oz. jar of Honey Bee Vanilla
16 oz. jar of Fresh Laundry

2.5 oz. I love to look around little stores like that, just for fun. We saw this display of was like a tart warmer set up, but these were a little different. Called a "Simmering Waffle Bar", these little guys smelled like heaven! After dinner, we went back and got a little set up, and you can mix and match these guys and create your own scents.

We got this pretty pinkish colored tart warmer, the kind where you put a tea light in the bottom. It was classy looking, and the best of what they had left, I thought. We decided on two scents, to mix and match. Roasted Chestnuts, and also Chocolate Truffles. Oh man, they smell like a treat together, or on their own. Even through the packaging, its a treat!

When we burned them, it was my first time to use a tart warmer for little squares of wax. They melted in a cool way, and of course my boys thought this was so cool, and you have to tell them to not play and touch the wax or stick things in it, as tempting as it is, lol. Anyway, its a treat to the senses at the very least, and the scent lasted for a few burns. I realized the wax will remain, bu the fragrance dissipates as you burn it, which makes sense.

Try these sometime! I like the idea of flameless candle burning, or tart warming, but I also like the idea that a t lite will burn out on its own, even if you forget about it, after a couple hours. In that sense, there is that safety feature built in.

I was sad the scent was gone, and needed to replace the wax. It is easy to do, just pop the whole thing in the freezer for a few minutes, and it pops out right into your hand when you push on it gently. Like some other things I love, I need to just use and enjoy these fragrances, as I tend to want to "save" them because they are so special. What is the point of that though? Try these out, they smell very very good.

WoodWick Candles

Woodwick Candles are still relatively new to me, as in the last few years. It has only been this year that I have burned them more regularly.

Speaking of candle prices in the other posts, this is one thing that certainly comes to mind when I think of Wood wick candles. BUT, to be fair, they are really really nice candles, and I can see why they cost more. Let me explain what makes them different from your average candle.

Woodwick candles have an actual wood wick, that is much wider across than your average candle wick. It has a crackling fire burning sound when it burns, on purpose. Its like having the ambience of a wood burning fireplace. It literally does crackle and burn like that, to the point that people often get alarmed when you first burn them sometimes! Just the other day, I came downstairs and found my candle extinguised, and I asked about who blew out the candle. My son said, Oh mom, that candle was making some weird sounds, something wasn't right. I smiled and explained to him about it and he was like ohhhh. At any rate, you get the idea.

As for fragrance, oh my goodness, WoodWick candles are very very nice. I think most of the fans of these candles love them for their fragrance, its just incredible. (for the most part) I will go into more details later on, to describe certain scents as I have burned them, but I love these candles in general. I would highly recommend that you burn them at least once.

Right now, the store prices that are in my area, are $9.99 for a small jar (3.4 oz.), $19.99 for a medium sized jar. (about 10 oz.), and I think $26.99 for a large, 22 oz. jar. So as with some other companies, I talk myself into getting the large jar, for the value of the candle wax I get for it. Since that can add up, I like to keep track of what I like the most, in places like this blog, so I can recall exactly what I liked and would purchase again. Some of the ones I have tried, I was able to get on sale, which is my favorite way to try a new candle. Also, I pay attention to who likes the candles in my house. That means a lot to me too. We always enjoy the ambience of a candle though. You just need to be very careful when you burn them, and never leave them unattended.

Some initial favorites...oh my, their Sheer Vanilla is nice, Lavender, Fireside, Almond orange, and Rum Raisin are all winners. I like more as well, and will share more how each burns, later on. The Frasier Fir fragrance, burns wonderfully, and makes me think of an authentic, strong smelling Christmas tree. Its lovely any time though.

Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle was something I really discovered and started buying as a young adult. I remember going to the mall with my husband and walking into a Yankee Candle store for the first time. I think we had been out to eat, and were just strolling around. Anyway, man what a treat that was, getting a chance to smell all the various candles! I recall saying, hey look at this one, do you like this? He was doing the same, and I recall being a bit disappointed the candles were as expensive as they were. (about $2.00 per votive candle) With as many as I liked and wanted to get, I could have spent a pretty penny there!! I think I got a couple candles that day, and I wish I had been making a blog like this, then because I could have recorded what I got. If I think back, I think it was maybe one of the coffee scents I got, like Hazlenut coffee, and another one. I loved it!

Next time we went there, I wanted to get more, and my husband said as a special thing, this one time, we could get the big pack of 12, buy 10 and get 2 for free basically. Oh my goodness, I was so excited. (We were young, finishing college, and financially at a hard point in our life that candles were definitely a luxury purchase.) So we proceeded to pick out several, and you would think that would have been easy, but not so much!

For the next few weeks at least, I enjoyed burning those candles. Some smelled better than others when you burned them. My goal was to get the scent going around the house. The ambience was so nice also, and one of my favorite things about candles.

I simply love Yankee Candles, and still purchase them. I have a weakness for these, and grew to love more and more fragrances as time went by and as we would get them, say as a gift at Christmas. I was hooked early on.

Partylite candles

I am going to cover a few of the companies that I have had some experience with first, before going on to particular scents.
Partylite and I have some history, and It was a joy to be invited to a party that my friend was having years ago. Basically, you go to a get together, a party, and watch a consultant put on a demonstration of Partylite candles and candle holders. It was nice to be invited over, to begin with, offered something to drink, etc. As the party started, the lights were dimmed, and it was immediately a relaxing atmosphere.

The host proceeded to light candles as she was describing each one, and it was just a delightful experience. She showed different ways to display and arrange things, and gave ideas for decorating and caring for your candles and accessories. I learned a few things that night, and became pretty much "hooked" on the idea of burning candles.

I was impressed with with how the candles burned so clear and pretty in the clear tall candle holders. It was very very nice and pleasing all around.

At the end, she let us look at catalogs, and let us ask questions, while we decided what we wanted to buy. Its always a little bit tense when they are talking about the hostess benefits, and trying to get you to want to sell the product also. Still it was a nice night, and I purchased something for myself, and couldn't wait for it to arrive. Oddly, what I got was a part of a two part set of candle holders, and I didn't realize that. I felt silly, but that didn't really put a damper on my liking of the candles or not.

Party lite has many great colors and scents of their candles. I love their 3 wicks, and assortments. They sell votives by the dozen. The vanilla is nice, and I grew to have many favorites. There is a lot more I could share, but I will leave it here for now.

Candle Reviews

My Candle reviews

I love candles and have enjoyed burning them for some time.
